Remember that bit about dancing like no one’s watching? Do that. One of the oldest techniques in the book – if that blank page scares you, pick a thought and just start writing like no one’s reading. At least it won’t be blank anymore, and if you start with a thought that’s pertinent, you might wind up with something of value (or at least something to give an editor).
If you are lucky enough to find yourself in the position of feeling like you can create your own reality and that the world is pretty much parting its waters for you to do so, well then, carry on reading this. Go ahead and bookmark it, too, because I’ll be adding to it regularly. The internet is conspiring to shower you with blessings, as well as a ton of free tools to fatten up your blog in all the right ways.
As you may know from my Facebook page or previous blog posts, I’ve been navigating the world of blogging, sales funnels, creating online courses, landing pages, and all that jazz pretty intently. It’s a perfectly valid career path, but because there’s a fairly generic template that underlies it all, there are some common themes and phrases that have popped up. Since the pool is now getting fairly crowded, I think it’s time we step back for a moment and re-evaluate what makes us all unique. We can start by eliminating the following currently-thematic words and phrases from our own “here’s my smiling face and call to action!” websites:
If you’re venturing into the world of content and social media, you’ve probably seen many, many people offering courses online – how to leverage Pinterest to grow your mailing list, how to do this and sell that and, yes, how to offer your own course efficiently and successfully (there are courses in just about anything being offered, really – but this is my world, and thus, these are the courses I mostly come across and pay attention to). Not all courses are created equally.
